What the audio quality score measures
The score combines several signals instead of judging quality from file format alone. A high-bitrate file can still be clipped, nearly silent, or heavily compressed. The analyzer looks at signal level over time, counts samples close to the digital ceiling, compares quiet and loud blocks, and estimates how much of the recording contains near silence.
Use the individual measurements as the main evidence. The score is a quick summary, while peak level, estimated loudness, clipping percentage, dynamic range, and noise floor explain why a file received that score.
How to read the results
Estimated loudness
LUFS describes perceived program loudness more usefully than a single peak value. A very negative result usually means the file will sound quiet beside typical online audio. This tool provides an estimate suitable for screening, not a certified broadcast report.
Peak level and clipped samples
Peak level shows how close the highest sample comes to 0 dBFS, the digital limit. Samples at or extremely near that limit can indicate clipping. A file can be quiet overall and still contain a few clipped transients, so both measurements matter.
Dynamic range, silence, and noise floor
Dynamic range estimates the difference between quieter and louder active sections. Too little can sound flattened; too much can make speech or music difficult to hear in a noisy place. Silence ratio finds very low-level blocks, while the noise-floor estimate helps reveal background hiss or room noise.

Does the audio quality analyzer upload my file?+
No. Decoding and measurement happen locally in your browser with the Web Audio API. The selected audio file is not sent to our server.
What audio problems can this tool detect?+
It estimates overall loudness, digital peak level, clipped samples, dynamic range, silence ratio, and noise floor. It also shows a waveform and basic file properties.
Is the LUFS result exact?+
It is a useful browser-based estimate, not a certified broadcast measurement. Codec decoding, simplified weighting, and browser differences can cause small variations from professional meters.
Can this tool repair or amplify the audio?+
No. It is deliberately an analyzer only. If an imported file is too quiet, use the iPhone app to boost it, compare the result, and export a new version.
